About

I taught myself to knit as an anxious 17-year-old. At the precipice of my young adult life, with college decisions looming and a career path in my sights, I craved the feeling of productivity while waiting for my life to start. Knitting was an easy decision – inexpensive and easy to start. Plus, it let me continue to watch endless hours of reality television, parked on the couch with the world swirling around me.

I would never have guessed that knitting would be one of the few hobbies that would continue year after year. The time I invested in the hobby changed, ebbing and flowing with other life commitments, decisions, and changes. Yet, knitting was a steadfast friend, always an available option to pick up when the mood struck.

I’m now 42 years old. Life has unfolded in unexpected and beautiful ways. I live in sunny Southwest Florida, where the landscape provides abundant beauty as the backdrop behind my knitting needles and the heat keeps the projects breezy and lightweight.

P.S. My first love is words, so you’ll only find words written by yours truly (no AI posts on this blog).
